Oh friend I know what you mean… all of it. The saying yes, the knowing it is right, the fear and the nails and the bed and Jesus of course he is there and you are meant to rely on him yet remember it is not holy to go it alone…you need to surround yourself with those american missionaries EVEN if you hate how they live right now. I know I tried to deny my culture and by the time I realized I was white not black I had alienated anyone who I could come close to relating to and all my Missionaries were British in Zimbabwe so very different still.

You are in a perfect place and you will get skinned alive and become an even newer and more beautiful (inside) creation..the lessons are coming!

Oh girl my heart really aches for you. My time in Africa was as you describe a time of transition and more transition and even more and over time transition becomes normal but you never change your roots do not deny who you are. You are a beautiful daughter of the King, you are an American, you are a Missionary…you are____________________. Fill in the blank.

I’m a friend of Lenee Cook and happened to notice your blog, which I really enjoyed reading. You emphasized an important point, which is that in the absence of a merit system, a system of grace cannot compell you to correct and loving action by personal gain or compensation. The only way to do what is right, then, is to grow in relationship with the Lord, and to maintain that relationship by paying close attention to who He is, in other words, by immersing ourselves in that understanding and that love. Bravo!
